Dessert Ployes
Prepare PLOYES as directed.
Stack in a plate and set aside.
Filling:
12 oz. package cream cheese
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (or any other fruit)
2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
Combine cream cheese and berries add powdered sugar and mix well in food processor or with hand mixer. Spread 2 Tbsp. filling into each ployes. Roll ployes, tucking seam underneath. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. What a treat!
Banana Nut Muffins 2 cups Ployes Mix
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 medium)
1 cup chopped walnuts (If desired)
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease bottom of muffin pan. Beat eggs, stir in water and oil. Add remaining ingredients all at once until flour is moistened (batter will be lumpy.) Fill greased muffin cup about 3/4 full. Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Immediately remove from pan.
Banana Steusle Muffin
2 cups Ploye Mix
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup mashed ripe banana (about 2 - 3 medium)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup nuts
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease bottoms only of 15 medium muffin cups. Prepair Streusel Topping.
Streusel Topping:
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
Mix all ingredients. Beat bananas, oil, milk, egg and vanilla in medium bowl with spoon until smooth. Stir in ploye mix, sugar and nuts all at once just until flour is moistened (batter will ber lumpy). Divide among cups; sprinkle with Streusel Topping. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cups.
Banana Nut Ployes
1 cup Ploye Mix
1 1/3 cup water
1 mashed banana
2 tbsp. packed brown sugar
1/4 cup walnuts (optional)
Combine ploye mix and water using a whisk or spoon. Add in banana, brown sugar and walnuts. Put about 1/4 cup of mix onto lightly prayed griddle. Spread out with back of spoon. Cook on one side for about 1 1/2 minutes. You my need to flip over and cook other side for a few seconds. Butter and enjoy.
Ploye Nuts
2 cups Ploye Mix
1/4 cup sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sugar after ploye nuts are made
Combine Ploye mix, sugar, and cinnamon. Slowly stir in buttermilk. Dough will be thick. Sprinkle ploye mix on work surface and pat out dough until about 1/2 thick. Cut in 1 X 2 inch pieces and place in hot grease. Using a fry daddy works well. Cooks up in about 2 - 3 minutes turning over once during cooking. Take out with large slotted spoon and place on paper towel. Let cool. Place about 1/2 cup sugar in large plastic zip - lock bag add ploye nuts and shake. Dough can also be rolled out like traditional doughnuts and cut into doughnut shape and deep fried.
Buckwheat Waffles or Pancakes
2 cups Ploye Mix
1 egg
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 3/4 cups milk
Beat egg, brown sugar and oil until smooth. Add Ploye mix alternating with milk. Spray waffle iron with Pam after each waffle is made. For waffles pour on moderately hot waffle iron and cook for about 4 minutes or until steaming stops. Remove carefully. For pancakes cook on hot lightly greased griddle. Turn pancakes as soon as they are puffed and full of bubbles but before bubbles break. cook other side until golden brown.
Ployes Pecan Delight
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 cup pecans
In a small bowl combine the brown sugar, eggs and butter. Mix well and than stir in pecans. Spread the filling mixture, about 1/4 - 1/2 cup onto a 7 - 8 inch ploye. Roll ployes and place seam side down in a lightly greased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Delicious!
Ploye Fruit Pie
21 oz. can fruit filling of your choice
Spread pie filling onto each ploye. Roll ployes and place seam side down on a lightly greased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Quick and easy pie with 1/2 the calories.
Ploye Ice Cream Sundae
1/4 gallon softened vanilla ice cream
whipped cream
Chopped waluts or peanuts (optional)
6 firm bananas
chocolate sauce or caramel sauce
cherries
Spread 1/4 - 1/2 cup ice cream on ploye. Slice banana lengthwise and place 1/2 banana on ice cream and roll up ploye. Top ploye sundae with favorite toppings: whipped cream, nuts, chocolate or caramel sauce and a cherry or two on top.
